Team Scarab

Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Larry Stone moved to the Vail Valley in 1989 because the World Alpine Ski Championships were being held in the United States for the first time. Larry, who has always enjoyed unique aesthetics, co-created The Scarab in 1992 with Jane Can Rohr. He is extremely service-driven, is always striving to make systematic improvements, and has a knack for recognizing the talents of other people. When he's not at The Scarab, he can be found making pizza for his passion project Agora - a community place for dining, drinks, and social therapy. Larry's first concert was Ted Nugent and his birthstone is Ruby.

Tara French was born in New York and raised in Texas. She pursued a degree in clothing, textiles, and merchandising at Texas Tech University, graduating in 1997. Shortly after, she relocated to the Vail Valley, where she spent fifteen years at Slifer Designs, discovering her passion for creating beautiful spaces and staying up-to-date with the latest design trends and color schemes. For the past five years, she has focused on sales, buying, merchandising, and project management at The Scarab. Tara especially enjoys working with designers and sourcing rugs for their projects, as well as gaining insights into the rug-making process. She’s excited about an upcoming trip to Nepal. In her free time, Tara enjoys skiing with her husband and friends, hiking with her dog, Remi, traveling, exploring new restaurants, attending live music and visiting her son at SDSU. Fun Fact: Tara and Helene are mother and daughter!

Helene McManus has spent most of her professional career in sales which she continues to enjoy. Prior to moving to Colorado 20 years ago, she worked for Nieman Marcus in New York. For thirteen years, she worked in the Slifer Designs showroom handling retail sales and assisting with various design projects. She then did similar work for Home Outfitters. Since 2020, Helene has been managing front-of-the-house retail sales for The Scarab. Her birthstone is a blue topaz and her first live music experience was a music showcase that featured Stevie Wonder and The Temptations. Her first Madison Square Garden show was Jame Taylor. When Helene isn't at The Scarab, she is spending time with her husband, traveling, or shopping in Denver.

Hailing from Mission, Texas, Danny Perez lived in Eagle County for six years before settling in Leadville in 2009. Throughout his seventeen years with The Scarab, he has learned that his favorite part of his job is installing rugs in clients' homes as well as making rug recommendations depending on the space. Because Danny helps customers from the moment they walk into the store to finishing the job in their home, he is an integral part of every aspect of their Scarab experience. When he is off the clock, Dannt is riding his Razor four-wheeler and camping with his family. His first show was Ramon Ayala, and his birthstone is sapphire.

The newest member of The Scarab team, Noe Sifuentes is originally from Zacatecas, Mexico and has lived in Leadville for four years. Noe works with Danny showing and installing rugs and is also responsible for taking inventory and photographing new rugs. He appreciates the artistic design of the rugs sold at The Scarab, especially those created based on paintings, and likes the home installation aspect of his job. He spends his free time with his family, making furniture, running and listening to music. Noe's first live concert was seeing Luis Miguel in Mexico with his parents and his birthstone is an aquamarine.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Brady Anthony moved to Eagle County after attending the University of Tennessee. Brady has been with The Scarab since 2019. He helps Tara with project management, helping designers design and create custom rugs and managing inventory. Although his background is in accounting, he brings fresh eyes to The Scarab and quickly learned about interior design and how to pull a space together. He enjoys The Scarab's flexible and fun work environment. He also enjoys the history behind rug making and connecting the world through rugs. Brady's current hobbies include golf, snowboarding and hiking.

A longtime Vail Valley local, Jane Can Rohr was raised in Istanbul, Turkey where she learned to find treasures - something she still does today. She moved to Eagle County in 1988 and co-created The Scarab with Larry Stone in 1992. Her passion for finding unique things and creating spaces informs both the personal and professional aspects of her life. Jane is a firm believer in helping Scarab customers feel at home and loves being part of each client's journey as they design their own spaces. Her first concert was AC/DC - she even had backstage passes - her birthstone is an opal. When she is not working, she is creating, mothering, traveling, gathering, picking, discovering treasures, and enjoying nature everywhere she can find it.

"A visit to the Scarab is like a free day at an exquisitely curated folk art museum...the collection is rare, precious and sublime, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and resourceful. Whether I need that special gift or perfect accent, I always know a treat awaits."
